Stone Mountain Camping Trip Update

As you know, the Pack's spring camping trip will be this weekend at Stone Mountain State Park. We were able to discuss many of the details at Tuesday night's Pack meeting. If you weren't able to attend -- or if you just want to process the info more slowly -- I wanted to provide that information for you.

The best place for aggregated information is right here on our new website. You can visit the trip information page directly at the following link:

If you just need some of the documents, you can DOWNLOAD a ZIP archive containing several PDF documents: one-page trip overview sheet, slides from Pack meeting presentation, driving directions maps, and camp site map.

You can also DOWNLOAD a general check-list of recommended gear to pack for camping.

(Note that these files are hosted on our website in the Forms/Downloads page : )

Last-minute reservations? I know that we have several families who realize that this is too good a trip to pass up : ) The camping site is absolutely full this weekend. Despite being on the road on business, Kean has made every effort to secure more room. Unfortunately, there are no more sites to be had.

That means: (1) we can likely NOT accommodate any last-minute requests, and (2) if you are holding a reservation and your plans have changed, then we'd like to hear from you IMMEDIATELY.

For those who are attending:
  • Kean and I are working to make camp site assignments to each family. We have 22 families attending and we have room for 22 tents. We will send out the assignment information to those families ASAP.
  • If you can, please try to put your family in a single tent. The Singleton clan will not be attending, and we have two tents that we can loan out: (1) a LARGE tent that comfortably accommodate 4, but sleeps up to 6; and (2) a 3-person backpacking tent. Please let me know if you'd like to borrow one : )
  • If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Scott Singleton.
