Big Sweep

Sunday, October 5 – The Big Sweep. This environmental cleanup, sponsored by the Town of Chapel Hill’s Stormwater Management Division, encourages residents to take care of public spaces. Since 1987 when NC Big Sweep first started at the coast, 335, 000 volunteers in North Carolina have cleaned up over 11 million pounds of litter and debris that entangled wildlife, ruined the scenic beauty of North Carolina, polluted our waterways, bred mosquitoes and posed hazards for hikers, pedestrians and automobiles.

Pack 39 will be responsible for cleanup along Bolin Creek and its tributaries. Please meet in the parking lot of the Chapel Hill Parks and Recreation Building off of Plant Road.  Scouts (and any siblings) will need to bring a signed permission form (attached below) to participate. All children from one family may be listed on one form. Please bring this permission slip with you.
